Attended Everett Schools, Owned and worked at the Glendale Square Bowling Alley with her late husband Max. Member of the Past Member of the Sisterhood of Congregation Tifereth Israel Everett and the Everett Chapter of Hadassah Beloved wife of the late Max Fogel. Devoted mother of Naomi Miller. Loving daughter of the late Benjamin Israel and Fannie (Cohen). Dear sister of Martha Stone and the late Harry and Abraham Israel. Loving grandmother of David Wolfson and fiancé Sarah Snell and Nancy Miller and husband Paul. Also survived by 1 great grandson Marc Miller. Graveside Services will be held at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery, Everett, MA on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 1PM. Joyce I. Provost, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 24, 2012 at the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved sister of Pamela A. Smart of Cape Coral, FL. Joyce also leaves her niece and nephews, Christine E. Smart and Michael R. Smart of Cape Coral, FL, Christopher Cole of Sudbury and Jonathan Cole of Dania, FL and her great nieces, Rebecca and Victoria Cole of S. Weymouth and Kaitlynn Smart of Cape Coral, FL.
Joyce was born in Dexter, ME where she lived for 15 years before moving to South Weymouth 60 years ago. She graduated from Weymouth High School in 1955 and New England Deaconess School of Nursing in 1958 before working at several Nursing Homes on the South Shore for several years.
Visiting will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday March 28 from 10 to 11 A.M. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home at 11 A.M. Interment will be in the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Pardo of Weymouth and the late Salvatore Michael Pardo, the sister of Robert Sloane of Carver, Carole Thompson of Brockton and the late Gardner Sloane, Allan Sloane and Rita Mears, the loving grandfather of Regina Byam of St. Marys, GA, Stephanie Colvin of Hooksett, NH and Kristin Lennon of Brockton. Margaret R. (Wallace) Eaton, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 14, 2012 in Boston. Beloved wife of the late Pitt Frank Eaton and the late Edward Orenstein. Mother of Anne Levangie of Rockland, and Robert Orenstein of Weymouth and stepmother of Peter Eaton, Pastor Neil Eaton, and Paul Eaton. Also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and her beloved extended family, Joseph and Joann Burns. Margaret lived in Weymouth for over 5o years, and was a very devoted mother, step mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was referred to by many who knew her as the sweetest most giving person they ever knew. She was also a member of New Hope Chapel in Plymouth. Margaret enjoyed painting, sewing, quilting and especially making Christmas ornaments for family and friends. The wake will be held at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) WILLIAM A. LEHMANN, 61, of Weymouth, became one with the universe on Sunday, April 15th, 2012. His battle with PTSD is over. Billy was a U.S. Marine and served bravely in Vietnam from 1968 – 1970. After his service Billy was a bus driver for the MBTA. He loved football, played for English High School from 1965-1968 and coached the Townfield Tigers Pop Warner Teams for many years. Bill was born on July 22, 1950 and was predeceased by is parents; Anton Lehmann and Dorothy Hock. He leaves his sisters Kathryn Munroe of North Haven, CT and Dorothy A. Manley of Hingham. Also survived by his niece Myriah Manley of Hingham; nephews Adam Munroe and Casey Munroe of North Haven, CT., and Thomas Manley of Bozeman, MT; half siblings, Carole Pine, John Lehmann and Richard Lehmann and his former wife Luzia Gracas-Silva.

Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Friday evening from 5-7 PM. Geraldine Agnes (Cunningham) Hagar, 86, of Weymouth, died April 20th surrounded by her loving family. Gerry was born in Newton to Agnes and Atwood Cunningham. Devoted wife for 58 years to her beloved late husband, Justin. Loving mother of Ronald of Lebanon,NH, Kenneth (& Jeanne) of Mansfield, Douglas (& Linda) of Weymouth, Susan (& James) Dresser of Hingham, and Janice (& David) Longendorfer of Mansfield. Sister of Norma (Cunningham) Brown of York Beach, Maine. Proud Grandmother of 13, Great Grandmother of 13, as well as nieces and nephews. Above all, Gerry loved spending time with her family and loved handcrafts such as knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She was an award winning artist who enjoyed oil painting. Gerry passed on her love of crafts to her grandchildren. Many of her relatives and friends are the lucky recipients of her paintings and many of the items she so lovingly crafted.
Mrs. Hagar’s wishes were that her body be donated to Tufts University School of Medicine. Memorial visitation in the C. C. Carol (Wright) Harrington, age 91, passed away at her home on Monday April 23, 2012. Carol was the wife of the late George W. Harrington and is survived by her son, Russell Harrington of Pembroke, her daughter, Gail Hickson-Brown of Hanson and her 6 grandchildren; Leigh Wood, R. Todd Harrington, Gregory Hickson, Matthew Hickson, Jason Harrington and Melissa Harrington. She also leaves 9 great grandchildren. Carol is predeceased by her son, Kenneth Harrington.
She was born in Boston, lived most of her life in South Weymouth and graduated from New England Baptist School of Nursing. Carol was a Chaplain’s Aid and Volunteer at the South Shore Hospital from 1956 to 2010. She was a member of the Old South Union Congregational Church and the Founder of the Church’s Spring Luncheons.

Donald R. Batchelder passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Sunday April 29, 2012. He was the loving husband for 55 years of the late Barbara A. (Lyon) Batchelder. Don is survived by his 4 devoted daughters, Cynthia Hurley of Hanson, Sharon Ladago of Sudbury, VT, Susan Reed of Jeffersonville, VT and Dawn Welch of Quincy. He was also blessed with 8 grandchildren.
Don was a life long resident of Weymouth, worked for the Weymouth Tree Department for 10 years and retired from the Weymouth Fire Department after 25 years of service. He served his country as a Sergeant in the Marines during World War II and the Korean War. Don was a member of the Weymouth American Legion, the Weymouth VFW and the Fifth Fielders of the USMC. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and love of animals, nature and his family.

Maureen F. (McRae) Rosa, age 52, passed away on May 2 surrounded by her devoted family. She was the daughter of the late Robert Emmett McRae and Anne Frances (Greene). Maureen was born and educated in Weymouth.
Maureen is survived by her husband of almost 25 years, Armando Rosa, and her 2 daughters, Laura and Christine. She is also survived by her sisters, Karen Vinciguerra, and her husband Thomas of Weymouth; Kathleen DuBois and her husband James, and their children, Robert and Jacqueline; and her late sister, Debra Ryan, and her daughter, Frances, of Duxbury. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Laurinda Rosa of Plymouth as well as other sisters and brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Maureen was a graduate of Weymouth South High School and Katharine Gibbs School of Boston where she focused on business practices. Maureen spent her professional career primarily within the legal arena and the Plymouth School System.
Maureen made her home in Weymouth and Plymouth where she raised her family. Maureen enjoyed the company of friends and counted the bond of lifelong friendships as a blessing. She loved her family and was devoted to her children. She was extremely proud of the accomplished young adults they have become.

LINDA L. HERSEY-WALLACE, of Weymouth, formerly of Hingham, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12th, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 60. Linda was raised and educated in Hingham and was associated with the Food Drive of the American Red Cross for over 10 years.

She leaves her loving husband, Ralph R. Wallace of Weymouth and was the mother of the late Shawn Michael Hersey. Also survived by her brother, 2 sisters and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Saturday from 3-5 PM. The funeral services and interment are to be private.

Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends and they are grateful for all the blessings she brought into their lives. Her legacy of love and caring spirit will live on in their hearts forever.

Robert C. Farrell, age 70, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston in 1942 to the late Walter C. and Leona (Hamlen) Farrell, he is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Beverly (Baird) Farrell. He was father of Rhonda Lynch and her husband Mark of Rockland, Melissa Farrell of Michigan and the late Richard Farrell; brother of Evelyn Chase of Wareham; grandfather of eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Upon graduating from Bridgewater High School in 1960 he volunteered for the U. S. Navy and served in the Caribbean during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Farrell was a master mechanic and owned and operated Farrell’s Auto Service of Weymouth since 1993. He was a service manager for a
Ford dealership for many years.
Bob enjoyed renovating old homes and was an all-around “Mr. Fix-it”. He was an avid fisherman, with his top catch being a blue marlin off the
Virgin Islands.

Carole was born and lived in S. Weymouth for 50 years. She was a Cash Auditor for Bradlee’s Department Store for 20 years before becoming a Teller at the Rockland Federal Credit Union for 6 years.

Phil is the son of the late Thomas G. and Cecelia Dolan and is survived by his sister, Judy Hewey and her husband Lyndall of Wareham and his brother, Thomas E. Dolan and his wife Claire of Weymouth. Phil was a life long resident of Weymouth and served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

– Peter F. Salmon, age 53, passed away on October 4, 2012. Peter was the son of the late Mary Tanger and Peter Salmon and the late stepfather, John Tanger. He was the loving father of Angela Salmon-Collins of Hanover and Peter and Anthony Salmon of Hudson, NH. Peter is also survived by his 3 sisters, Virginia Tengberg-Rossi of Marshfield, Mary Lee of Manchester, NH and Margaret MacKenzie of North Attleboro, his brother, John Salmon of Weymouth, 2 grandsons, Teddy and Jaxon and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and many good friends. He was predeceased by his daughter, Nicole Salmon formerly of Hudson, NH.
Peter was born in Milton and lived in Weymouth all of his life. He was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and a certified welder. Pete had a passion fore riding Motorcycles, fishing, music and shooting his guns. He always had a story to tell and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Loving father of Mary DeAngelis and her husband, John, of North Weymouth, and the late Virginia Ekholm. Brother of Vito Megna of Texas. Proud Grandfather of Teresa, Janine and her husband George, and John and his wife Kerri. Great Grandfather of Kendall. Al was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Army where he was also the recipient of the Purple Heart He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 101st Infantry Veterans Association, as well as the Yankee Division. Al also enjoyed going to Foxwoods. He will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. SULLIVAN, WILIAM J., 72, of Sandwich, Mass., formerly of Weymouth, passed away on Oct. 18, 2012. He was the loving spouse of Katherine Sullivan of Weymouth for 34 years, & father of Katherine Marie Sullivan, Christine S. Gorman & husband Thomas M. Gorman, & Margaret Morales & husband Jason Morales. Brother of Raymond F. Sullivan. Loving grandfather of Allie & Gabby Morales. He also leaves his loving pets that gave him much joy. In celebration of his life, Relatives & Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at The Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, Sandwich on Oct. 29 at 10:30 A.M. Mr. Sullivan is a retired pressman for The Boston Globe where he worked for more than 40 years. He was a corporal in the US Marines, assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Lake Chaplain. His first deployment was to pick up the first US astronaut in space, Alan Shepard, when he splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean on May 5, 1961 after completing an orbit of the earth. Mr. Sullivan’s unit guarded Shepard’s capsule, Freedom 7, while on board the USS Lake Chaplain until it reached port & was turned over to NASA. Donations in his memory may be made to the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, Mass.
